 After a packed few days doing "work" (*cough*) related stuff in Sydney,
I ended up going to an AWAi meeting on my way back home last night..
and I am sure glad I did.For those who don't know; Australian Wireless is an association which was formed and has a goal to "make it easy for everyone who is interested in community wireless networking to be able to get setup and connect to others using wireless technology, by providing easy access to information on how to make it all work". More information can be found on the AWAi website (which I might add is currently being worked on) here. Make sure to keep an eye on their website, as it should be changing over to the new one soon! Contrary to how it may have looked from their prospective (a definitive lack of sleep since last Friday had left me quite lethargic), I really enjoyed the meeting, and definitely got a lot from it. I hope that Bathurst Wireless can get similar meetings happening sometime soon, as I think they really need to happen before our project can really start moving forward and being productive. I'd also like to thank the AWAi guys for the welcoming atmosphere and for letting me barge in on one of their meetings. I look forward to working with and meeting them all again in the not so distant future. Thanks again guys! More project news to come soon. |
