 The AP based at my place has now become a software based HostAP box
rather than the old hardware AP I had. After initial testing by Ranger
it appears all is going well and it is offering better connecion than
the previous hardware solution. The main reason for this is the
hardware AP that was in place could only run in dual diversity mode and
hence the range was not as good.
This new configuration does
enable us to utilise the hardware AP for temporary setups of new APs
around town. A big thanks goes to Somefella, Cazam and Ranger for their
assistance in this switch over.
