BxWifi-AP-MtPanorama and BxWifi-Mesh-MtPanorama is located on the castrol building on Mt Panorama.
Hosting and equipment is provided by Jason Davis (Bathurst Broadcasters) and some equipment by Phill (XtremeX).

The castrol building previously caused lots of drooling as a possible wireless access point for Bathurst Wireless.  The castrol building has a spectacular view and clearly gives most of Bathurst the opportunity to connect and further expand the network.  This was made possible by Bathurst Broadcasters requiring a link to a local information radio station and to Bathurst Regional Council for allowing a wireless link to be utilised.

war1 war2 Mt Panorama's Setup utilises a 2 port war board and the StarV3 operating system giving us a solid reliable foundation and dynamic mesh capabilities.  We are utilising Winstrom CM9 cards, which we have found to be cheap and faultless on other parts of the network.  This is the 2nd war board used on the Bathurst Wireless network, the first being located at Bathurst Broadcasters.  Sofar these boards with their hardware watchdog's, much like the wrap counterparts have been flawless.

stumbling aligning After several attempts at stumbling and aligning the backbone antenna it was apparent that there was not enough line of sight to establish a link to BxWiFi-AP-BS (Bathurst Broadcasters).  Neither was it possible to backbone to bxwifiap02, as there was no rf bandwidth available.  The backbone link was instead aligned to Mt Rankin, which successfully achieved a constant speed of 600KBytes/s, or 250KBytes round trip to BxWiFi-AP-BS.  This was a great result since each endpoint was using nothing higher than a 19db antenna and an approximate 16kms round trip.

finished The Mt Panorama setup has since been adjusted, removing the backbone link, and including an open mesh point to allow the network to expand giving opportunities to link parts of Bathurst that were previously inaccessable and ultimately creating a more redundant link.  A special thanks to Jase (nick bxsl) (Bathurst Broadcasters) for allowing this opportunity.  The Mt Panorama setup may be closed to public during races or other events, this is a small price to pay for such a fundamental artery to the network :D.
