DaFiz what are you going to be using the link for? this will determin what sort of gear you buy. Also the cost of the equipment.
To give you an Idea I went out and did a little testing.
using a $30 minitar and a Orinco Roamabout card I was able to achive a link of 10km
this was using a home made amos antenna and an old austar mmds dish that I modded.
this link was able to sustain 360kbps. long links are easy given the right circumstances.
