New CBD AP

Just have noticed talking with some of the guys that since livewire is moving in the near future some people are going to be unable to connect to the network. Came up with the idea that maybe we could try to get one put up on the roof of the Ox.

I work there so I would be able to butter up the boss a bit but just wanted to see what was involved with the setup and mounting. Would probably be best if someone wrote up a proposal of sorts since that would work best with Ash.

Only real problem I see would be Ash asking "whats in it for me?". He is a huge fan of lost and a couple of other shows so that would probably be a easy route by just letting him have access to some of the ftp's or one of us burning stuff for him to watch on his DVD player heck I could even do it.

Just wanted your thoughts on this.

Sadly It wont solve my problems with connecting unless someone can knock down the church

Where abouts are you refering too?

I'm setting and New Client to Brock AP and found in pretty much accessible from most of the cbd.

Livewire AP is going to be a HUGE hole in the BXWIFI network, but hoepfully a few new AP's will come online shortly.

I am right next to the Magellan Bowling club on Keppel St. Cant hit Liveiwre at all due to the building next to me and a huge building or two blocking line of sight to BRock.

However just a few min ago I think I found a sweet spot to bounce a signal off of. Able to connect to BRock now at Low (according to windows) and can dowload from Dschumey at 300k which works fine for me. I have the urge to see if I can tweak a bit more out but I really doubt I can. Have been trying off and on for 2 weeks to get back on and scared I will never fidn this spot again

That's a good start.

There's also another Client accessing around there SLAMFX and I believe he owns his place he might be interested putting up an AP.

B-rock is very reliable, there reason you may have not seen it before is that in was on channel 13 with is fine for EUROPE devices but not with standard 1-12 channel equipment.

the loss of AP01 is a sad moment for Bathurst Wireless. It has been the longest serving ap on the network and has always been one of the most used. I would estimate that over 100Tb of data has passed through it. I can only hope that ap02, brock and mt pan can help fill the hole that it leaves. I know some users (myself included) will loose there connection to the network. I ask those users to be patient as we try and get everyone back on the network.
