Neobyte when did AP02 go down to my knowlage (and I would hope I am one of the most informed members of the network) it is still up and running and working fine
or do you possible mean ap01?
as for ap07 it had to come down last week as I am moving and then ap07 will be straight back up as in in the first few hours after I have the keys 
ultimatley we need more Barnacles, XtremeXs and BXSLs on the network that are in it for the long haul and are willing to run and fund ap's and backbones
Bathurst Wireless by it's very nature is a community network and if the community isn't interested in it then no amount of funding will help it prosper
I do think your sudjestion to form an association is a great idea and deffiantly worth looking into. I will most likley be moving to Canberra at some point next year but that won't stop me from participating in the network
