I have been interested in Bathurst Wireless for sometime, but unfortunately because of where I am located I had next to no chance in the past of getting it!

I do beleive now that I may be able to access the Mt Panorama AP, although this may also be difficult as the grid on the tower isn't pointing towards Kelso.

If I get on my roof I have clear LNS to the Castrol tower.

Anyway, I have been looking around and am thinking of using a modified Hills grid with a Belkin F5D6050 as the device. Given that it would be on my mast which is around 8m above the house and 15m or so from a window I was considering mounting the WLAN card mid way and using an active USB extension to the router, with coax running to the antenna.

Does this sound like something that would work?
How difficult are the Hills antennas to modify?

Around Bonner Street, which I am guessing is going to be a pretty crap spot. I am going to get up on the roof within the next week and try it out. I have driven around town into some good spots to try the equipment (it works quite well).

I have looked what is in the way between my place and Mt Rankin on Google Earth and it seems to be relatively in line from here too.
