help with wireless

I had a bit of a try on the weekend with connecting to the wireless using zebs method of the old austar dish with a netgear wg111 usb dongle. I am in Abercrombie estate so i should be able to get extreme's access but i cant see it, i can only see ap04 and it says on demand, i try to connect and it takes forever and thinks its connected but i cant ping any of the ip address's and the adaptor says not connected.

I went for a drive up to windradyne with the laptop and i get two ap04's up there, one i can kinda connect to it attempts to give me an ip address then fails.

any ideas?

Hi Shotgun.
where abouts are you trying to connect from? which street?
you need LOS(Line of Sight) at 2.4ghz to be able to get a solid connection and not many places in Abercrombie have LOS to X.
Do you have any photos of your setup how you have mounted the card in the dish? you need to make sure that the onboard antennas are in the focal point of the dish and not being obstructed by the metal feed support.
I a more that happy to help get you connected
Zac

i'm in the middle of the estate and the signal strength to ap04 both of them (i get two for some reason) is under 10%. Is zebs or extremes access point going?, i think they are the only ones i have any chance of connecting to and i went fro a drive and couldnt get either.
